We held our SOPP gathering this year at Copacabana Beach—the same place where the Pope held a gathering last year, and where many people from around the world will no doubt visit when they come to Brazil for the World Cup.

We offered the same prayer that Masami Saionji offered at the SOPP ceremony in Japan, just half a day earlier, and we also offered prayers from Christianity and Spiritism. Then, we prayed for peace in each country using flag cards, and formed a flag mandala around a peace pole on the beach. Some people who were observing us from a distance asked if they could take a photo to remember the event.
