São Paulo, Brazil: report by Carmen Balhestero

Two large-scale events were held in São Paulo to celebrate the SOPP and the inauguration of the Fuji Declaration. The first, on May 16, was a gathering of about 200 people at Fraternidade Pax Universal. The event included songs, messages, and prayers from various faiths and spiritual traditions, including Buddhism, Xamanism, and Kriya Yoga, among others. Barbara Wolf and Margaret Anderson, authors and speakers from the United States, delivered a message via Skype, and Maestro Antonio Velozo and PAX choir performed “Let There Be Peace on Earth.” The gathering was broadcast live over the internet on our “Pax TV” channel. A video in three parts is available online at: http://bit.ly/1IrsbxB.

On May 17, some 5,000 people attended the gathering at the Perseverança Spiritual Center, where we again celebrated peace with messages and songs. A video of this event can be viewed online at: https://youtu.be/m7a7QzAYMSU. At both events I introduced the Fuji Declaration and invited participants to sign it. We had signature forms prepared, and we collected over 1,700 endorsements of the Fuji Declaration! Thank you for the opportunity to be part of such a great movement!
