Bracciano, Italy
report by Bibi Guru Inder
The Yogadharma Community in Bracciano, Italy, was involved in chanting peace mantras for humanity all night long (from the 14th to the 15th of May). Every living being’s ultimate aim is to operate so that the light of the divine spark may be awakened in each person’s heart.
Infinite gratitude to Masami Saionji, and for the light connection with the sacred Mount Fuji and with the Byakko Community.
I honour the place inside You where the entire Universe dwells
I honour the Light
I honour the Dialogue
I honour the Peace that is inside you
When you are in that place and we are in that place we are ONE.
Potenza, Italy
report by Maria Caterina Putignano
On May 14th, 200 pupils, aged 8 to 11, from San Domenico Savio Primary School in Potenza convened in the school park, wearing around their necks the handwritten mandalas they had made.
The ceremony began with the reading of messages of peace created by ten students who, joined in a circle, moved and amazed many of those present, both for the universality of their vision and for their great compassion towards the suffering of humanity.
It was really amazing to see all this commitment from the students, aided by the wisdom of their teachers and inspired by the proposal of Vito Palladino, a Byakko prayer colleague who established a relationship with the school for this project.
Next, one of the teachers, Giuseppina Mancusi, offered the simple Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi to the assembly. Also, the artist Teri Volini offered a prayer from the fourth century BC, to the lady of heaven and earth. Finally, I said the universal prayer for peace in the world and offered a message of infinite gratitude to all.
After this, the ceremony of peace for all the nations of the world started. For each continent, participants offered a phrase of infinite wisdom. Rocco Monteleone performed music as a background to the ceremony.
Like a river that runs powerfully, we entered into the great current of peace. Hearts were filled with emotion—a feeling of pure happiness. The ceremony ended with the procession of all children waving the flags in the air. It was a fantastic sight. Infinite gratitude to all those who made this possible.
Italy (online)
report by Sonoko Tanaka
Byakko prayer colleagues in Italy, myself included, organized an international online SOPP on Sunday, May 15th, together with other European and Japanese prayer colleagues. We gathered using the Zoom videoconferencing platform.
The Italian team (Martina, Gian Franco, Luca, and Simona) held a flag ceremony online, and there were voice leaders from ten different countries who pronounced the full version of the prayer for peace in each country of the world. I spoke the words “Success for the rebirth of the divine spark!” in Japanese after each prayer.
We practiced divine breathing for two minutes and performed the Divine Spark IN ten times, with the narration of the meaning of the IN in ten different languages (we have been doing the same at other online prayer gatherings for the past two years). Then, we offered an IN of Gratitude to Nature ten times, with words of gratitude to our dear beloved and sacred planet Earth in ten different languages. We closed the ceremony with two minutes of silence, in which participants shared in vibrations of love, joy, and deep gratitude.
It was a wonderful symphony of many languages, cultures, and people—a celebration of diverse sounds, vibrations and energy, which harmoniously became ONE! Everyone did his or her part perfectly, just like everyone plays his or her own part of the symphony exactly in the right time in harmony with everyone to create a beautiful orchestra!
One participant commented: “Today’s SOPP was truly worthy of the name ‘symphony.’ The combination of ten languages and people from different parts of the world sounded complex, yet was perfect and truly harmonious and impressive. It was a perfect SOPP. Thank you so much.”
