Urrez, Spain
report by Asun Serna
For over 20 years, we have met in Urrez, near Burgos, to celebrate the Symphony of Peace Prayers. This year, as the group could not come together on the 18th and the weather report forecast heavy rains, we opted to move the date to the 25th.
The ceremony took place in a space familiar to us, in a field near a Romane church, and under the protection of a peace pole, the first planted in Spain, long ago. To help us get into the consciousness of the Symphony of Peace Prayers, we always begin with a meditative walk, in silence, on a two kilometer trail, where we stop along the way for a short moment to honor the continents (each continent is represented by a large colored flag). A spring sun and a field of flowers enveloped us throughout our walk.
This year, the participants were not only the core group of sinfonia de paz, but also some new faces and families. Our simple and very sincere ceremony lasted an hour and a half, with songs, recitations from various spiritual traditions, and poems by Goi Sensei.
These songs and recitations initiated our prayers for peace to prevail in each nation, with the national flags. During the ceremony and the raising of the flags, we were aware that our prayers were addressed to and received by the divine protectors of each nation.
We also read the text sent by Fuji Sanctuary on the theme of this year’s SOPP, musubi. Two young brothers, new to the ceremony, carried the earth flag during the finale of the ceremony. As always, we collected the flags and put them back in order in a respectful manner.
As we began to say goodbye to each other, with many joyful hugs, a rainbow-colored glow, forming magnificent wings, appeared in the sky above us, lasting for 45 minutes. It was with deep gratitude and emotion that we experienced this splendid communication. We remained almost prostrate, in prayers of gratitude, as we contemplated the magnificence of this celestial phenomenon, in a blue sky, without rain, under spring warmth.
I would like to offer our infinite gratitude to our supporters, Nicole and Caterina, who continually guide us, deepening the teachings from Fuji Sanctuary with unconditional dedication and love.
Here are some comments we received after the event:
“Union in harmony and balance—the union was felt.”
“A feeling of brotherhood, whatever the distance. What the mind separates as differences, the small shared acts of the heart unite.”
“It was a very enriching experience. The manifestation in the sky is very clear and reminds us that we are accompanied by the divine. I found so much love, so much friendship; I came back from this experience refreshed. I am grateful to all the higher beings who accompany us from afar, and who make of this symphony a whirlwind of peace that reaches heaven.”
“My experience at the SOPP was magical, with this divine manifestation of confirmation, encouraging us to continue working towards achieving peace on earth.”
“The gift from heaven that was sent to us anchors our love and pushes us to pursue our mission.”
“My feeling is magic, strength, connection, communion, union, and gratitude.”
“It was an experience of peace and love, and heaven manifested itself.”
