2019 marked the 15th annual Symphony of Peace Prayers! At Fuji Sanctuary, the grand celebration took place on May 19, 2019, with people taking part all around the world through the live online broadcast (see above).

When a large mass of people around the world come together to pray for peace, across cultural and religious boundaries, we generate the power and energy to manifest the divine will here on earth — a world of peace, harmony, stability, prosperity, and equality. This is the philosophy behind the annual Symphony of Peace Prayers global event.

Presenting the Divine Spark IN, 2018

At the 2018 SOPP, the Divine Spark IN was introduced to a global audience, as an easy-to-practice method for awakening the divine spark that resides within all humanity. This simple combination of deep breathing, movements, and light-filled thoughts opens up the path to a brighter future for oneself and for the entire planet.

The 2019 ceremony opened with a performance of the Divine Spark IN, followed by the SOPP’s core program, Praying with the Religions of the World.

2019 Prayer leaders:
Fr. Rocco Viviano (Catholicism)
Mr. Mark N. Zion (Judaism)
Imam Muhammed Rasit Alas (Islam)
Mr.
Tobashi Masahiko (Shintoism)
Mr. Kitagawa Yuchi (Buddhism)

Ms. Shantisree Goswami (Hinduism)

Mr. Setsuo Miyashita

This year’s musical guest was Mr. Setsuo Miyashita, performing on the santoor, an Indian stringed instrument. Mr. Miyashita’s music is known for “sending blissful and peaceful sound vibrations to the all beings on earth.”

Following Mr. Miyashita’s performance, participants were invited to offer a prayer of gratitude to nature, and then to pray for peace in each country and region of the world as the national flags were presented on stage—a stirring ceremony that touches the hearts of participants year after year.

In addition to the SOPP at Fuji Sanctuary, local prayer ceremonies and gatherings took place throughout the world, as people came together in homes, parks, community centres, and places of worship to celebrate peace, harmony, and love. Reports and photos from these events, as well as the ceremony at Fuji Sanctuary, will be shared in our Archives later this year.

May Peace Prevail on Earth!
