SOPP 2025 at Fuji Sanctuary
“MUSUBI”
Sunday, May 18, 2025, 11:00~13:30 Japan time
The 21st Symphony of Peace Prayers was broadcast online from Fuji Sanctuary in Japan, the global home of the SOPP, on May 18, 2025, bringing together people from all around the world in their deep and sincere wish for peace on earth and interfaith harmony.
In 2024, the SOPP marked its 20th year, thanks to the continued support of participants and guests, who have steadfastly believed in the SOPP’s mission to unite humanity in prayer, transcending all differences of faith, nationality, and background.
In 2025, the SOPP entered a new stage in its development, with a theme of “Musubi.” Musubi is a Japanese word meaning to ‘tie’ or ‘join,’ and it represents the restoration of our vertical connection with the divine and our horizontal connection with the living beings with whom we share this earth.
People around the world were invited to join in the ceremony by tuning in to the live-stream presentation on YouTube (starting at 10:50 am) and joining in the various prayers for peace.

Each year, the SOPP celebrates humanity’s common wish for a world of peace and harmony, through a show of interfaith unity and with shared prayers for peace throughout the world. In recent years, the SOPP has also been the venue for a variety of global initiatives, including the inauguration of the Fuji Declaration (2015), the launch of the Soul of WoMen campaign (2016), and the introduction of the Divine Spark IN (2018).
The following prayer leaders participated in this year’s event:
Rev. Deborah Moldow (Christianity)
Mr. Gil Ron-Shama (Judaism)
Ms. Salima Maxine Adelstein, M.Ed D.D (Islam Sufism)
Rev. Suzue (Shintoism)
Mr. Shinjo Nohara (Buddhism)
Mr. Diego Boanerges Sandoval Torres (Hinduism)
Our deepest appreciation goes out to these religious leaders who led participants in prayers from different faiths. The ceremony also included prayers for peace in each country and region on earth, and prayers of gratitude to nature.
As in previous years, we expect that many people around the world also celebrated the SOPP by organizing their own local gathering or private event. Whether you joined in this year’s SOPP via the broadcast or by taking part in a local event, we invite you to send us photos and a brief description of your experience and impressions.
