Uruguay

Solymar: report by Elena Becú

Our event in Solymar, near Montevideo, was a very small affair, yet very powerful and moving. This was our first time holding our gathering in Uruguay in a public place. We held a flag ceremony to pray for peace in each country and performed prayers without words.

Although the organizers had a somewhat difficult time planning the event, they felt overjoyed after the ceremony, and were already making plans for next year. I was also very tired myself, as I had taken an overnight bus from Buenos Aires, after participating in the ceremony there. But I enjoyed the spirit of this ceremony very much, and I would certainly do it again.

We would like to thank the many people who joined in peace prayer and meditation gatherings that are not included in this report. Our deepest gratitude goes out to all those who gave their time and energy, their hearts and souls, for peace on Earth.
