Fuji Declaration Presentation

Maki Saionji introduced the next part of the program, a presentation from Hiroo and Masami Saionji on new developments around the Fuji Declaration, which they co-initiated in 2015 with Dr. Ervin Laszlo.

Hiroo Saionji

Five years ago, Masami and I, together with Dr. Ervin Laszlo, initiated the Fuji Declaration. Under normal circumstances, we would be celebrating this fifth anniversary at Fuji Sanctuary together with all of you, but due to the spread of the new coronavirus, nearly all events here in Japan and throughout the world are being cancelled or postponed. Even movement within the country is very restricted, so unfortunately we cannot hold the SOPP at Fuji Sanctuary in the usual way. Although this is very disappointing, we have received many encouraging messages from supporters of the Fuji Declaration, and I would like to share some of them with you today.

Our co-initiator, Dr. Ervin Laszlo, has remarked that we are living through a critical junction, or turning point, in humanity’s evolution. Now, with the emergence of this pandemic, he says that we are standing right at a crossroads. We have the opportunity to make a breakthrough in human progress toward the creation of a sustainable, harmonized society. Or, we can take the other road toward a breakdown and collapse of human society. We are now at this all-important boundary.

Dr. Laszlo also noted that this pandemic is a chance for us to reaffirm that all of humanity is truly one global family. If all of us recognize this and adopt the spirit of the Fuji Declaration, we will take the road that leads to a breakthrough. For this reason, he hopes that we will work to spread the Fuji Declaration as widely as possible. He even went so far as to say that he is grateful to the pandemic for clearing the way for this new society and civilization. Therefore, I think we need to carefully consider this opportunity that has been presented to us.

We also had a message from Dr. Jane Goodall, the world-renowned primatologist. She remarked that this pandemic is the result of humanity disregarding nature and neglecting animals. We have dominated the planet and behaved arrogantly, and now that poor behavior is coming back around to us. She stressed that we all need to wake up and start creating a society where we coexist with animals and nature.

Mr. Neale Donald Walsch, the well-known author of Conversations with God, said that when people are in a so-called negative frame of mind, our sense of distance from other people and the differences between us grow weaker, and we are able to feel a sense of oneness. In that sense, there is a positive side to this situation. At the same time, he pointed out, by having a deeper dialogue with ourselves, we can connect with our sacred, virtuous self, just as the Fuji Declaration says.

Similarly, Dr. Deepak Chopra said that this critical situation is a time for reflection. He feels that this type of situation presents an opportunity for people to come together and work for a common cause.

Dr. Chopra is a recipient of the Goi Peace Award, and another recipient, biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton, said that the virus itself has brought about a very serious crisis. But what makes the situation even more dangerous is that our swelled sense of crisis causes our power of immunity to decline. Therefore, he said, at this time, it is vital for us to exert our own inner power.

These are some examples of the kinds of inspiring messages we have received through the Fuji Declaration network.

I also think that now is not a time for human beings to be at odds with one another. I think we can interpret this pandemic as a divine message, or warning, that if we do not work together to overcome this crisis, humanity truly cannot survive. I believe we should see this as a unique opportunity to advance our evolution as human beings.

For this reason as well, I hope you will join me in working to spread the spirit of the Fuji Declaration ever more widely, to overcome this crisis, and to build a wonderful, more evolved future for humanity. Thank you.

Masami Saionji

Hello, everyone. As my husband just said, Dr. Laszlo and a great many others have connected with this year’s SOPP. Five years have already passed since the Fuji Declaration was launched. Its signatories and supporters come from all different fields of activity, and by making use of their fields, their experience, and their network of connections, they join us in looking ahead to next year.

This coronavirus is uniting the whole world in a way that has never happened before. In this time, when all human beings are stricken with pain, sadness and fear, the Fuji Declaration plays a vital role. As we join hands with Dr. Laszlo and the many other renowned signatories working in all different fields, we are at long last entering the era when humanity’s divine spark is coming alive.

The Fuji Declaration, which was inaugurated at Fuji Sanctuary, is at the center of this transformation. Already, more than 10,000 people have reawakened their divine spark and are manifesting it in their countries and communities. Let us continue spreading the message of the divine spark to all people, transcending national, cultural, religious, and ideological boundaries. Thank you very much for your continued support.
