Fuji Declaration Presentation & Divine Spark IN

After thanking Rev. Deborah Moldow for her performance, Maki Saionji introduced the next part of the program, a presentation from Hiroo and Masami Saionji on new developments around the Fuji Declaration, which they co-initiated in 2015 with Dr. Ervin Laszlo.

The Fuji Declaration, which was inaugurated at the 2015 SOPP, is a global charter calling on all human beings to awaken to our sacred consciousness—our divine spark—and build a new civilization based on the essential oneness and goodness of humankind. The Declaration brings together the wisdom and support of thought leaders working around the world in a wide range of fields, from business and politics to education and the arts. (More information is available at fujideclaration.org.)

In 2020, the fifth anniversary of the Fuji Declaration was celebrated with a four-day online event called Source of Wonder, in which an international group of presenters offered their contributions toward guiding people to connect with and bring forth their essential, divine self. (More information and videos of the event are available at sourceofwonder.com.)

Hiroo Saionji

In 2015, Masami Saionji, Dr. Ervin Laszlo, and I started an initiative called the Fuji Declaration. The world today is facing various problems, including poverty, conflicts, hunger, diseases, and environmental issues. As humanity confronts these crises, the question of how to build a sustainable and harmonious world and pass it on to the next generation comes at a crucial time. In this sense, the most important thing is a transformation in consciousness within each individual, and that is the very purpose of the Fuji Declaration.

In particular, the Fuji Declaration aims to reawaken the awareness that human beings are inherently good, that our essential nature is sacred, and that each of us is living in a state of deep connection with many people, with nature, and with the universe. This was our intention when we launched the Fuji Declaration six years ago.

At the 2015 SOPP, Dr. Ervin Laszlo and other supporters gathered to inaugurate the Declaration, and last year was the fifth anniversary of that event. Although we had originally planned to hold a special event to celebrate the fifth anniversary, we instead held an online event called Source of Wonder, which coincided with the fifth anniversary.

Supporters and signatories of the Fuji Declaration, along with some 80 opinion leaders working in various fields gave talks, led meditations, performed music, and even offered tea. Their wonderful presentations inspired participants to feel the sacred qualities that inherently reside within us, and to elevate their consciousness of humans as living beings.

The 15 hours of presentations were broadcast over the internet over a period of four days. It was first aired in October, and was so well-received that we aired a two-hour digest version in December, as a gift for the holiday season and a message to young people in particular. It’s quite a powerful video, and if you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend watching it online in the Fuji Declaration archives. Today, we are showing a ten-minute condensed version, and I hope that in watching it, you will once again feel the significance of the Fuji Declaration. It is our hope that many people will live their lives in accordance with the values of the Fuji Declaration, and we believe this is the starting point for creating a harmonious world. Thank you very much.

Following Mr. Saionji’s remarks, a ten-minute video was aired showing some highlights from the Source of Wonder presentations. The video featured Professor Christopher Bache, Prince Alfred of Liechtenstein, author Lynne McTaggart, scientist Peter Russell, and authors Gary Zukav and Lynda Francis.

Rika Saionji, Vice Chairperson of Byakko Shinko Kai, introduced the next segment:

Now, we would like to introduce the Divine Spark IN. This IN is an expression of prayer that is formed through deep breathing and specific hand movements. Forming this IN helps awaken the divine spark within us. All of humanity carries this shining divinity within us. Please feel the infinite positive energy created by this IN and the deep breathing. I invite you to form the IN once with us.

The performance of the IN (by Yuka, Maki, and Rika Saionji) included subtitles showing the thought, or meaning, that accompanies each movement:

While inhaling, we concentrate with our whole being.
While exhaling, we empty our mind.
We invite divinity from heaven.
Our true existence radiates light.
We receive divinity from heaven.
This same divinity is within us.
The divine masculine and divine feminine within us are brought into harmony.
We send divine light to all humanity.
The light spreads to every human being.
All humanity resonates with the vibration of divinity…
and recalls their essential divine nature.
All human beings are divine lives.
