Song of Shining Divinity

To begin the next portion of the ceremony, Byakko Vice Chairperson Maki Saionji offered her personal thanks to the religious prayer leaders:

If you listen to the peace prayers of the religious leaders, you can feel the beautiful energy that exists in the depths of their prayers, and you will find that your heart becomes peaceful as you connect deeply with the prayers. The words and rhythms of each prayer are different, but every prayer helps us connect to our roots—our divine spark. It was a true honor for me to connect with the beautiful prayers that these amazing religious leaders have offered here today, and to join with all of you in sending out peaceful vibrations and waves of healing to the world. Thank you very much to the wonderful prayer leaders for their heartwarming prayers, and to everyone who participated in these prayers today.

She then introduced a performance of a new song called “Song of Shining Divinity,” with lyrics written by Masami Saionji and music composed by Byakko President Tomohiko Naya. The song was performed in English by Rev. Deborah Moldow, an ordained interfaith minister, founder of The Garden of Light, and former director of the World Peace Prayer Society (now May Peace Prevail on Earth International). The song was accompanied by a video slideshow featuring scenes of nature as well as the song lyrics.

Song of Shining Divinity

Shining so brightly is our life
Shining so brightly
All of the past has faded away
And our heart is light
And now we can hear the song
We hear the song of life
Divine spark, divine spark
Divine spark reborn
As we awaken we hear it
Now is the time
Beaming with bright light is our heart
Beaming with the brightest light
May everything that lives on earth
Find happiness and joy
And now we can hear the song
We hear the song of life
Divine spark, divine spark
Divine spark reborn
As we awaken we hear it
Now is the time
