Beni, Democratic Republic of the Congo: report by Fr. Muhindo Mapendo Kasongo Pascal

The Diocese of Butembo-Beni organized a gathering for SOPP 2018 where we sang songs of peace. Before the ceremony, some of the children went on the radio and gave a peace message for Africa and their region of D.R. Congo. Our purpose in the Diocese is to sing and pray for a culture of love, peace and forgiveness. We believe that songs of peace are a powerful way to cultivate peace in the human consciousness. As Saint Augustine said, “If you sing well, you realise a deep prayer.”
